Creative Futures Week, Day 2
Today, the 1st session I attend was "Creativity in the real world- How I make a living from Death" by Violet Fenn. She explained how she got into hobby of publishing photography of dead people on her website "The Skull Illusion". Also, she is designing her own jewelries which she inspired by the photos. We have been shown many examples of her work. She quoted "Be Curious" and advised to start selling our works on the internet. The fallowing session was "Getting a job" by Wendy Rees from BBC Wales. After her graduation from Aberystwth University in law, she wasn't looking for a job on her area. Coincidentally she got offered a job from S4C. After she joined the BBC to work in HR. We have been given a lot of tips to get a job in BBC. She talked about the job and trainee opportunities in the BBC. Session finished with watching some TV series of the BBC Wales produced. In the afternoon we had "Piece to camera" by Matthew Richards from BBC. He talked about "How to piece camera works?, How to look?, How to speak?, How to storm out?". Also we did few exercises about interviews. The presentation was very clear, understandable, explained with lots of different videos. We got so many advises about how to interview with the people, what is the bad interview and good interview examples are. The last session of the day was "Studying and working abroad through Erasmus" by Stewart Milne. He talked everything about Erasmus such as " What we need to apply?, How to apply?, Who can go?, Financing, Which countries and schools are available?", there was meant to be a student going to share how she has gone through Erasmus. However, she was unable to attend but we have been given some sheets to read about people's experiences. Today's lectures were all very enjoyable. The most i interested in was "Piece to camera". I loved learning about interviews, seeing various of different examples.
